More Winter Fun

We had another full day of snow! I have no idea how much we have in total- it's just a lot! It really is pretty.

We took Gavin and the dogs out for a long walk. Gavin had the luxury of being pulled on a sled! He had an absolute blast!

We went to Saratoga Springs yesterday afternoon and ran into Santa! Gavin wasn't a real big fan of him!

Playing in the backyard... Adam was having fun picking Starsky up and throwing him into the snow! You can sort of make him out in the photo below- flying through the air! Hope you all are having as much fun as us!

Unknown said...: that is so adorable. gavers makes a great looking little elf!!! he looks a little freaked out by Santa though, i am not sure i totally blame him. Santa looks a little "different" in that pic.

Yum! That was gooood! Recent recipes that I recommend you try!

Pimiento Mac and Cheese Cover recipe from the March 2011 Bon Appetit. It's a nice take on mac and cheese- no bechamel sauce. Instead, the sauce is mostly made in the food processor from a base of red peppers, peppadews, and ancho chile. Great weeknight meal paired with a salad.
Cocoa Brownies with Browned Butter and Walnuts This has been a winter of dark chocolate seduction! I heart these brownies. Heart as in BIG TIME LOVE these brownies. I have made these twice in two weeks. This does not happen at my house. Make them.
Chocolate Chocolate Chunk Cookies I am obsessed with this cookie and I am not even a chocolate lover. The recipe calls for white chocolate chunks, but my mom advised using Herseys Special Dark chocolate chips. Amazingly delicious!
Chicken Stew with Biscuits This is absolutely grubbin! It's from Barefoot Contessa Family Style... It's the epitome of homemade deliciousness
Mexican Pot Roast Tacos These tacos are "the bomb," not sure if people use that expression anymore, but whatever. For $7 you can buy enough meat for 10 tacos- We had friends over for a taco party. So easy to make and everyone loved them!
Tuscan Chicken This chicken recipe is really awesome and crazy simple. Just marinate and then put it on the grill! In addition, if you're watching your money like me, it's a cheap meal to make. I bought two split chicken halves at the butcher counter for a total of $3.80! I paired the chicken with the mushroom risotto recipe listed below. A fantastic dinner for two for about $10. Can't beat it!
Chile Verde Enchiladas This is a great recipe for a chile verde sauce- I make the pork in my crock pot and season it with fresh lime juice, tomatoes, garlic, cumin, kosher salt, and chili powder- cook all day and then shred for the enchiladas.
Mushroom Risotto This has opened a whole new world of cooking for me- I didn't have all the mushrooms so I just used criminis and shallots- didn't have truffle oil- the basic steps of this risotto recipe are awesome and you can just add whatever you want to it! SO GOOD!
Hunters Minestrone This is really tasty and good on a cold night!
Braised Pot Roast- fantastic I should add that I add a half bottle of red wine- I mean why not???
Lemon Chicken with Croutons Hands down the best roasted chicken recipe!!
Blueberry Coffee Cake Muffins - So good with fresh berries from the farmers market!
Perfect Evening- Rosemary Buttered Popcorn add a glass of Merlot- FAB-U-LOUS!
Beef Tenderloin with Balsamic Port Reduction Sauce I miss you Chelea!!!
Pork Tenderloin with Gorgonzola Sauce This is soooo yummy!
